Near's birthday

The sun was rising just as Near opened his eyes. He sat up and realized. Today was his birthday. He didn't really mind, except that people at Wammy's take birthday's very seriously. By the time he finished breakfast, Near already had five presents. He started making his way back to his room. He had to fix a few of his robots. On the way, he passed Mello, who glared as usual.
"Good morning." The birthday boy greeted.
"...Morning." The blond muttered as he continued down the hall, munching on his chocolate as usual. Near walked to his door and stepped inside his room. He saw that someone had left him a small box with a tiny card on his bed. Near walked over to it and opened the card. All it said was 'Happy Birthday' inside. Near looked at the envelope and saw a chocolaty finger print on it. 'Mello...?' A small smile came to Near's face and he opened the little box. Inside was a mini-robot model. Near took it out and set it on a shelf with the other robots and toys he had. 170 He poked his head out of his door and saw Mello whip around the corner as fast as he could, "Thank you Mello." Near said with his always monotone voice.
"Whatever..." Mello mumbled.
